Most enterprise AI stalls at the pilot for two reasons: the work isn’t tied to what matters to the organisation, and the governance around it was built to stop things changing. I lead Gartner Consulting’s AI capability across EMEA, and unsticking exactly that is most of my week.

I’m a Partner at Gartner Consulting, leading our AI solutions business across EMEA, and getting AI past that stall is most of my work. Roughly half my week is business development: working with senior clients and account teams to qualify opportunities, sharpen the problem and turn early interest into defined engagements. The other half is delivery, and I stay hands-on. I work in the detail with small teams of three to eight people, build the core answer myself when it matters, write the deck, and give it to the client directly. Beyond the engagements I lead, I look after the wider EMEA AI portfolio: turning what works on one engagement into reusable offerings and methods, guiding who we hire, and running enablement so our teams start further ahead and clients reach value faster.

I’m also an American, originally from Atlanta, Georgia and I moved to London in 2021 with no network and built a career here. In 3 years, I went from Sr. Director to Partner and am truly grateful for the community and network I've built on this side of the pond. I think in systems, and I run the same frameworks over my own career that I run over a client’s organisation. Outside work I build my own tools.

Away from the desk, I like the things that can’t be rushed. Wine, which I collect and study (WSET Level 3) mostly as an excuse to keep exploring. Bonsai, which teach patience to someone who never had much. A 1963 Chevy pickup my dad and I are bringing back to life one weekend at a time, with Formula 1 and motorcycles for when the pace needs to go the other way. And diving: I’m rescue certified and I’ll get in the water anywhere, partly for what’s down there and partly because Teams doesn’t work underwater. Over 45 countries so far. The list isn’t finished.

Borders and Balance

A newsletter. Coming soon.

Technology strategy and career frameworks for navigating global complexity. I write it from the two things I’m doing at once: advising CIOs across EMEA, and building a career across borders.

Borders means the geographic kind, and the organisational and functional kind. Balance means the competing demands, telling signal from noise, and performance you can sustain.

Three pillars:

Enterprise AI and technology strategy
Cutting through the hype with what’s actually working on real transformations.
Building international careers
A practical playbook for advancing a career across borders, written while I do it.
Leadership and professional development
Frameworks that hold up in both the enterprise and the international context.

You’ll get an email when the first issue goes out, and nothing else. No spam.
